The Lavender Series| Video Tutorial: Lavender Soap

Here is the video tutorial for the Lavender Honey Lemon Soap.

In this video, I will show you step-by-step how to make this fabulous Lavender Honey Lemon Soap. It’s very easy to make, and creates a creamy, fragrant, luxurious soap. The honey and glycerin base are humectants that draw moisture to the skin. The goat’s milk is very rich, and the lavender and lemon provide a soothing, yet invigorating experience. I used an all-natural goat’s milk melt-and-pour glycerin soap base because I wanted to avoid unnecessary chemicals and preservatives that can cause irritation.

Here are the ingredients you will need:

Supplies:

  • knife for cutting
  • cheese grater
  • glass bowl for heating soap in microwave or on stove
  • glass measuring cup for pouring
  • silicone soap mold

Instructions:

  1. Zest one lemon using a cheese grater or lemon zester and set aside.
  2. Cut goat’s milk soap base into 1″ cubes.
  3. Microwave Method: (Optional) Place cubes in glass bowl and microwave at 30-second intervals until soap is completely melted. Be sure not to burn the soap.
  4. Double Boiler Method:
    • Fill large pot with 2″ to 2-1/2″ of water.
    • Place soap in glass bowl and fit over the rim of a large.
    • Heat water to boiling, then reduce to medium heat as soap melts.
  5. Once soap is completely melted, carefully remove glass bowl from the pot and transfer the melted soap to a glass measuring cup.
  6. Add the lavender, lemon zest, honey, lavender essential oil, and lemon essential oil and stir, mixing completely.
  7. Spray silicone soap molds with surgical spirits or high-percentage isopropyl alcohol (I used 70%). This helps to reduce/eliminate bubbles.
  8. Pour soap into the molds.
  9. Spray again with surgical spirits or isopropyl alcohol to remove bubbles.
  10. Sprinkle some extra lavender buds on top for aesthetics (optional).
  11. Cool completely.
  12. Gently remove soap from the molds.
  13. Enjoy!

This soap was so fun to make and it came out beautifully.

Please let me know if you decide to make this soap, and post your pictures!

Be blessed.

  1. Great video tutorial Krystal! I didn’t realize how easy it was to make soap. I’ve always wanted to make soap, but heard it was a complicated process. You made soap making look totally doable for me! The finished product came out so beautiful. I hope you’ll consider selling these on Etsy one day. I think they would be a big hit there!

    • Hi, Tiffany! Thanks for watching my video. Yes the melt and pour soap is very easy to make. I would consider selling soap on Etsy or my site. I need to find a way to keep the the lavender from oxidizing. As soon as I do, I’ll definitely post it!

If you make this soap, let me know how it turns out 🙂
