Review | Vogue 1020 Jacket

Pattern: Vogue 1020 Jacket

Pattern Description: Jacket has ties and an inside button closure.

Pattern Sizing: 6-12 and 14-20. I made a 10.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing? Yes!

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, the instructions were fine. Just my understanding of them was a bit off! LOL! For the collar, you need to narrow hem one side and attach the notched sided to the neckline of the jacket. Then you slip-stitch the collar only to the upper portion of the neck edge, between the shoulders. Mistakenly, I slip-stitched the whole length of the collar to the jacket and couldn’t figure out why the jacket didn’t look like the picture! It took me almost an hour to slip-stitch that mess (I was also watching Dancing with the stars). I had to take out all the unnecessary stitching, which took about a few seconds. At least it was an easy fix!

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like to scrunch my sleeves up to my elbow, but the sleeves seemed a little to big, because one of them keeps falling back down. Otherwise, I was drawn to this pattern by the collar and tie closure. It looks casual and work appropriate all at the same time.

Fabric Used: Charcoal gray stretch polyester jersey from Fashion Fabrics Club.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Most likely, I will not sew this again, but I would highly recommend it.
