New Sewing Plans

Now that I’m wrapping up my Work Wardrobe SWAP, with just the Kwik Sew 3199 blouse to finish, I’ve been thinking and planning future sewing projects. I’m actually contemplating starting a new SWAP. I think it’s too late for me to enter the PR wardrobe contest, but again, I like going at my own pace without the pressure of a deadline.

I’m thinking PINK, and I have my storyboard and fabrics all picked out. I’ll post it soon. This SWAP will be a mixture of work and casual clothes, and I will attempt to sew my first pair of jeans using McCall’s 5142. I also have a UFO or two that will be additions to this SWAP.

I told myself I wouldn’t do this–buy fabric without a specific purpose–but I was feeling kind of down, and I bought two lovely selections from Gorgeous Fabrics:

This shirting will be for New Look 6704 (view B or C), and will make a nice addition to my already conceptualized “In the Pink” SWAP. There was also another fabric I bought from Gorgeous Fabrics, a pink/black/gray floral jersey that I may make into a dress, but I could not find the picture. I’ll post a pic later once I get the fabric in, which should be any day now! 🙂

I also bought this delicious ribboned crinkled blue chiffon from Fabric.com. I couldn’t resist.

I thought it would make a lovely Burda 1-2008-108 blouse (sans bow tie).

Well, that’s all that’s going on for me right now. Take it easy, and happy sewing!
