Jeans Question. What Kind of Fabric?

Okay, since I botched my Jalie jeans, I really want to redeem myself. Fabric.com is out of the deep blue stretch denim I originally used. The only other stretch denim they have is this dark indigo.
There’s no telling when they’re going to get the color I wanted in. Should I just go ahead and get this indigo color? I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s not quite black, but it’s not the classic blue I wanted either. And what do I topstitch it with? White?

Let me know your thoughts!

  1. Hi Me! I wash my fabric the same way I intend to when it's a garment. I washed my other denim in the cold cycle and dried it on the extra dry setting, since it was with other dark clothes. I you wash it cold, you might want to wash it twice to get the excess dye out (it was all over my fingers when sewing the jeans). One hot wash or two cold washes should be enough.

    I hope this helps.

  2. Krystal,
I think the white will look good.
I ordered the fabricdotcom denim inindigo, but I have not sewn or even washed it yet. How do you usually prep your denim hot water/hot dry?
    Thanks,
    Tyna
